Nicole Scherzinger's debut solo album is now set for a June release. Three whole seasons late from it's original release date of October 2007. I'm guessing her record label is not taking "no" for an answer; they're determined to get this girl a hit. They're most recent attempt at topping the charts, Puakenikeni, hasn't made an impact yet. All I can say at this point is 'good luck.' She's talented, and I enjoy her voice but, people just don't seem to warm to her unless she's got six other women shaking it behind her. Oh well.
Kelly Rowland won't give up either. Her new lead single from the re-release of her failed disc Ms. Kelly, the really chill Daylight, is her attempt to salvage what was honestly, a good album. Unfortunately, it's not exactly catching on.
I can't really explain why these girls aren't achieving better results. If you wanted to argue that pop music right now isn't exactly brimming with talent, I'd be hard-pressed to disagree with you, but these girls don't fit in that category. Both can hold their own on a stage, Nicole especially, and their solo material isn't much of a departure from what they did as part of a group. Kelly may be able to blame poor promotion, especially since she spends an inordinate amount of time in Europe, but Nicole has absolutely saturated pop culture as of late. She's always performing somewhere. So, I toss my hands up.

Nicole's album keeps getting shelved because her singles have all failed to chart well and frankly, were all shit. "Whatever you like" was some bullshit. It sounded like a cross between Kelis' "Blindfold me" and Beyonce's "Ring the alarm", but wasn't nowhere near as good as either one. "Baby love" was straight garbage, as was "Puakenikeni" or whatever the f**k that song was called.
Nicole did this to herself. Had she released her solo album when people gave 2 shits about her, she would've fared better. But instead, she kept featuring on other peoples songs and decided to stay with PCD and release every other song off of the album. She should've released "Steam" as her lead single around the time it leaked, because the response from that song was positive and rightly so - that song was HOTNESS. I still play it now.
She also missed the boat when she didn't release "Physical". She could've capitalized on it by releasing it when Timbaland and Danja's popularity was at it's peak - but again, she messed up.
How many more people need to get fired from Interscope until her album gets released or is scrapped!?
I just want to hear "I M.I.S.S you" in full. The snippet sounded hot.
As for Kelly, she f**ked herself over. She needs to realize that Columbia has no time for anybody but Beyonce and neither does Mathew Knowles. If she were as good as promoting herself and her music as she was at kissing the Knowles' arses, she'd have 2 multi platinum selling albums, a decent career and a Grammy by now. Ms. Kelly was a great album. There were only 2 songs on the whole thing I didn't like and even they weren't that bad.
